” Internet usage: Feel free to upload and display your photos on the internet via Facebook and other online galleries. However, please make sure tolist my name (Emilee Liverance) and website (www.emileeliverance.com) along with each photo you choose to display. “
Since the images on the disc are high resolution and are meant for printing, I choose not to watermark every image. However, this leaves the responsibility up to the client to make sure they credit my name and website with each photo. As redundant as it may seem to individually credit each photo it is vitally important to my business. For example – say a client uploads their photos to Facebook. First, all of their friends can view the photos. Then if one of their friends decides to share a link to one of the client’s photos, all of their friends can also view the photo – and so on and so forth. The number of people with the ability to view the photo quickly multiplies and when the photo is properly credited, my business gains just as much exposure.
These days, the business of photography is very much promoted by social media. When you’re browsing through a friend’s photos on Facebook and run across their amazing engagement/senior/wedding photos – how likely are you to click the link to the photographer’s website if it’s right there under the photo and easy to access? Most likely you will.
Please remember to properly credit your photographer when using your photos on the internet, giving credit where credit is due is the best way to show support for a photographer who you love!
Here’s a quick look at one of the photos from Erin’s senior photo shoot this weekend!
